 Biographical Information

Russell Murray is Associate Professor of Music and Assisant Dept Chair at the University of Delaware. Although his training at the graduate level was primarily in musicology, he held a teaching fellowship in trumpet at the University of North Texas where he studied with John Haynie and Leonard Candelaria. Playing with NVCB marks a return to brass playing after more than 15 years specializing in early wind instruments. He plays an "F. Jaubert" Imperial model, imported by Lyon and Healy around the turn of the century.
